The carpentry I know of is very knowledgeable, even the workers need to study the characteristic of different type of woods and laminate...workmanship is good and responsible too.

[interested can directly deal with carpentry, Mr.Lau from Metal & Wood General Contractor, (9742 5965)....

eventhough it's a minor job..i believe that Mr.Lau will be able to meet your requirements...he is doing the carpentry works, quite experience as well..can drop by at his workplace at NorthLink,,,

hi. is it true that carpenters need not be registered with hdb if they only specialise in carpentry? that is, no hacking and tiling etc

Our Reno + all carpentry works also done up by Mr Kok & Ms Perlyn. (Sun Hup Interior Contracts)

Mr Kok & Ms Perlyn were helpful, patient, responsible to reno our new nest for the past 7 weeks.

We are satisfied with their service and all the carpentry works, very good workmanship with reasonable price.

I think your home is really beautifully done. I am impressed. I will like to seek some information from you.

1) Is your house a new 4 room HDB flat? The reason I ask is that the floor plan looks very similar to my BTO flat.

2) I don't know if you are willing to share with me your renovation cost and ID if there is any. You can PM me if you do not want to show out here.

3) Is Mr Kok and Ms Perlyn ID or carpenter? I think their work is rather high quality.

I like the design of youe flat - very spacious and clean look

Are they specialise in Kitchen cabinets as well? I need a quote for Kitchen cabinets and wardrobe as well but on tight budget. Heard that is better if i go direct eg. Seng Kwong who is specialise in Carpentry rather then going thru other contractor which will also later sub out to other carpenter right?

I quite like the German Innotech system on the hinges they provided which is anti slam but i know many others also offer that right?

Is Seng Kwong reputation good? Appreciate any comments and do you also have other recommendation or alternative for me to compare?

Yes. Carpenters are just wood works thus need not register wit HDB. However, if capenter company involves in ID and contractors works then register with HDB is a must cos they have to apply permit for owners.

How is the payment terms usually? Like how much to pay first? I have contacted Mr Kok & will arrange a house visit by him. Not sure is it only cash terms or he also accepts VISA.
