zirhk3355 1 Report post Posted August 15, 2007 Can you live with the bad work done? If so then leave it and save your 5% lor.Likelihood why the ID/contractor is disappearing into thin air now is because they already got most of the payment.
lawry 3 Report post Posted August 16, 2007 Towards the end you will find a lot of unsatisfactories.Such as ..- paint on your window grills- bad worksmanship for your carpentry interiors- grouting came off after chemical washing- laminated floor scratched after doing carpentry- holes here and there waiting to be patched up- etc..Since you still hold the last 5%, keep holding on to it until it's all cleared to your satisfaction. If not don't pay up.
matlucio 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Thanks for the advice. But for me I wanna my house to be complete cos it will b for a long time I'll b stayin there. So I wanna know what should I do, to make a complain or ..Seems like they now don bother to continue doin the touch up and rectify the defects..
lawry 3 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 I'm sure they would still want the last bit of the 5% (easily $1500 to $2000?) That could be your only chip against them. Alternatively, you can ask your ID nicely, I see no reason why they should leave it like that, they are running the risk of "free advertising". Some customers might just take pictures of incompleted jobs and post it on the forum. This is done by XXXX Interior Design, and this is their so called standard. I've already talk and remind them. It's been me checkin the defect on my house rather than them. Even one of them wanna to sue me cos i write remarks abt hxx. xxx saya i tarnish xxx image and reputation. But xxx can't accept the fact that it is true. Now even my aircon remote control they don wanna pass to me. They will do that only during the handover.
tonyho 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 I have consult a lawyer about this matter. They say you should write a acknowledgment letter to your contractor by register mail tell them when they should complete the reno, if not you got the right to find another contractor to complete the remaining work and they have to bear the cost
