hard to reccomend, no ones dare guarentee that there's total no hicups in a reno works, has to be realistic.. all hdb approved and radac accredited are somehow bounds by things that they need to follow, as long as the one you engage has these 2, should be safe enough.. if you list this good workmanship money not a problem, my experience with one contractor, a really contractor look uncle, markup every single item, charge every labour fee till the reno works come up high.. can cost my current reno works more than 5k extra if i ask for more worst.. didn't engage him so don dare say with such high profit for a contractor, he will do his best to total hicups free reno works :bangwall:

good luck in your search

I agree with summerholiday, would advise you to shortlist a few e.g. 5 companies from forums and pay a visit to see their showrooms or their clients' houses. Seeing is believing. Do talk to their clients if possible.

Afterall, we want to be happy owners of our new house. Happy "researching"... !!

Hi SMALL

Your theme is simple but practical.

So are you referring to 'Move In Condition'? or

Design/Featuers included?

Just for info, I opt for move in condition and not fancy about design/features.

That will really cut cost alot.

Is she really that good? I heard she's only so-so... maybe her chemistry with you very good... that's why.

Anyway, anyone engaged Theresa from ID Emboss before? How's she?

RENOVATION is about cover up or modify the ugly side of the house with ideas and materials. In another term, to BEAUTIFY the place.

Many complain here and there because they did not do enough homework. I would suggest get as more quotations from different firms if possible (works MUST be the same) if not how to make a FAIR comparision. By doing this, you will get an estimate of how much your reno costs. Do your bargaining because anyway you will be taking a risk for workmanship.

Every one wants to save $ and don't like to be conned vice versa every business needs profit. If a company only earn a little from customer then might as well don't take up the deal. There are unreasonable owners out there too..after completion of reno..they want discount so will complain about workmanship...drag the last payment or even threaten to go to CASE...I have seen some but who is at losing end...the owner. Why? Firstly, if the company did all the required works stated in the contract so there is nothing wrong here except WORKMANSHIP. You can't complain about workmanship.

In the past, I was working as a project executive for a renovation company. I have encountered some good and bad contractors. The bad ones I have blacklisted them, the good ones I keep their contacts for my own if I want to renovate my own house in future. Below are the works that I can provide you.

1. Electrical works

2. Ceiling works

3. Kitchen solid top surface

4. Painting

5. Laminated flooring

6. Carpentry

7. Glass and mirror works

Feel free to contact me at 98228686 and no gimmicks.
