quarkz 2 Report post Posted March 17, 2022 Hi, my relative is getting her house renovated. Her ID told her to get a licensed electrician to do the electrical work. We checked around and it seems that some electricians we checked are licensed, while some are not. it seems that there a 3 types of licences - electrician, electrical technician and electrical engineer. I only found a related post here: https://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/282-electrical-work-cost/page/16/?tab=comments#comment-580595 but that was 10 yrs+ ago. So has things changed? How impt is it to get a licensed one vs an unlicensed one? Will insurance be affected? Thanks!
GermanStein 0 Report post Posted May 20 It's still important to prioritize licensed electricians for your relative's house renovation. Safety is key when it comes to electrical work. As for the different types of licenses, it's generally safest to go with a licensed electrician for standard residential projects.
Ullani 0 Report post Posted May 20 When deciding between a licensed and unlicensed electrician, I strongly recommend going with a licensed professional. Safety should always be a top priority when dealing with electrical work. Licensed electricians have gone through rigorous training and certification processes to ensure they know how to handle various electrical tasks safely and effectively. They are also up-to-date with the latest codes and regulations, which means the work they do will meet all legal requirements and standards. You can find more information about their services at https://kanatautilitiesltd.ca . They provide comprehensive electrical services, and you can trust that their licensed electricians will get the job done right.
