Aircon Quotes (From Aron)

Recommended Posts

I learnt from 2 air-con specialists that the brands we should avoid are LG (veri expensive on spare parts), Mit heavy Industries (Made in China and poor quality), Fujitsu (poor quality). Highly recommended brands are Mit. Electric, Panasonic, Tobshiba and Daikin. Hope this piece of advice will help you to decide which brands to consider. Never believe in salesman cos they will never tell you the truth. You have to do your homework.

Hi All

I am using a Sys 4 Mitsubishi Elect Starmex for my new place. By Nation Cool. I would like to highlight that please Do not use Nation Cool. Experience only pleasant up to paying deposit. The guy self assumed and put our air con right smack in the living room, hanging low like a TV. Refuse to change the positioning, want us to pay extra to change the location and gave a loud outburst.

In the first place he did not meet us and indicate clearly where he would place the aircon. He just arrived with no prior notice and started installations. Very upset at the service. Trunking not straight also. It's wavy slanting kind of trunking

Do not use them!

GainCity quoted me about 1169 for the Mitsubishi (MEC) (non-inverter) MUAD18VA/MSA18VA (18k BTU) single split. AllBest quoted me about 50 bucks less. Bracket (+150) and isolator (+280) are separate charges. Toshiba is about 1299. Didn't ask about the insulation/copper piping and whether it's a two-times installation though.

If you only turn on 1 air-con everynight get non-inverter. Not worth getting inverter as in order to save electricity u will need to turn on 3 or more units.

Yday, I went to Living Tomorrow 2010 fair at EXPO. I went to 3 air-con shop to ask for quotes.

went to GC cwp. got the following quote (nett $)

starmex sys 4 inverter MXY-4A28VA = $3600 (No Stock Till mid-end Jan)

non-inverter one = $2800

- 1 yr equipment warranty

- 3 yr worksmanship warranty (parts, labour, transport)

optional upgrade to class 0 (1/2 inch armaflex insulation + grade 22 copper pipe) = $230

optional 4 yrs worksmanship warranty = $439

starmex inverter one has 2 x compressor, so if i one aircon everynight for 1 x room, only use 1 x compressor.

total damage (if take up all optional) = $4270

Forgot to check exactly what is worksmanship warranty?? Anyone knows?

E.g. If my compressor spoilt or liquid pipe leaking, they cover everything?

E.g. If I ask them for normal servicing, need to pay?

Cos not sure whether is it worth to get the additional worksmanship warranty.

Thanks!

I think if you do a search in the forum for the above companies from EXPO, you will find some comments about them...after that then you decide if you still want to go for them. As for GC, it will be fair if you compare them with Courts, HN, Best or CarreFour....Good Luck....
