Renovation Cost For Two 3 Rm Flat

Recommended Posts

Hi all, am a new member in this forum. Recently bought a resale flat. (Two 3 rm combine) .They call it 5I model to be exact. It is at original condition and need to renovate. Would like to know if anyone has any pic to share to provide some ideas on how to renovate this kind of flat as it has 2 kitchen/toilets/hall & 4 bedrms. The cost involved for this kind of house model as I believe it require much demolition works. Lastly any recommendation for ID or contractors. I seriously need ideas on how to reconfigure the house. My budget is looking at 40k for reno, not too sure if it is sufficient.

welcome to renotalk :P

yes i'm also curious where is your new place :P

first things first, you must decide if you need two kitchens

if not you might want to consider changing it into a MBR instead

so you'll have a huge living, 1 kitchen, 4 common BRs and a MBR

good if you have elderly folks who need to have a bathroom in their room

do post some pix of your new purchase for us to :dunno::D

Hi Fred,

I get what you mean coz my parents are thinking of selling their JUMBO in woodlands (172 sqm) now which is made of one 4-room and one 3-room back then and i was thinking "wah, the buyer if want to renovate nice nice must hack like xiao lor.." hee... my room was actually a kitchen and so i have a balcony (which was a service balcony previously)

If you like the idea of having 2 kitchens, maybe u can make one into a wet cum heavy cooking kitchen and the other into a dry pantry/ laudry area... i think it's quite cool... :dunno:

Hi applefreak... WAH, $440 + 40K! In which area? Really :sport-smiley-004: haha...

Thks for sharing your idea, will seriously consider. Do you have any pics to share on your room which has a balcony ? Mine is not as big, only 128sqm. Probably will only have 1 kitchen.

Hi applefreak, maybe $440 + 40k is for high floor, prime location plus renovated. Mine is only on 5th floor and already close to 30 yrs. Original state.

I intend to reconfigure the whole place but do not know how high the cost will go.

Hmm I am currently sourcing for Di for my 3rm reno....really depends on what you want to do.

If change all floorings, hacking, rewiring and carpentry like kitchen, wardobe, console ....with your floor area....40k dont looks promising....if got ID quote you that or lower you also have to be careful.

Enjoy...its tiring really. I dont know about you , I am all alone in the process, so mentally and physically tired.

Cheers

hi guess the location played a big part

the flat i was bioing was right above chinatown mrt :)

maybe you want to consider going for a contractor

the only difference between an ID and a contractor is one do design and the other don't

the cordination, the advice of practicality is all there

me went for contractor coz i want my home to be exactly the way i want it, and not something that 'someone' copied from magazines 8|

if you dun mind, maybe you can share some details on the occupant of this flat i.e. age and relationship so that we can give you some suggestions :P
