Desmond Leong 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 Hi i am setting up a new home and i intend to have a altar for my Goddess of Mercy.Due to space constraints in my new home , i decide to custom build a Altar cabinet according to fengshui measurements. But i realise i do not have a proper wall to put my Altar to face my windows nor main door. You see, the only wall is the side wall of the Bomb shelter facing the windows, but if i put the altar there , it would be too noisy as we will be moving stuff in and out of the bomb shelter and we must be careful not to open the shelter door full width as it will hit the altar. So i did not like the idea of the altar being at the Bomb shleter side wall. I decide to put the altar at the side of my living room using the ceiling of the house and the floor to hold the Altar, and it will face my panels of windows directly, problem is i will not have a back wall for the altar but it is held firm by the floor and the ceiling, so it is rather firm and stable. My question is Is it okay to do this way?Because i really run out of ideas.
GnM 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 I guess a floor plan of your living room and bomb shelter and the direction of your home would be more useful in such a discussion.Or do you have picture of the places you plan to put your altar? what will the altar be facing in those position? MaCe 3 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 first choice is always "face the main door"there is no 2nd choice. Unless you already 皈依. in which you can even dedicate a whole room just for the altar, some pple call it a in-house mini shrine.
Desmond Leong 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 I have no choice, i only have the option to face the panels of windows due to constraints of space and design. The windows and main door are at opp end of each other. ANyway if i open the main door, it will be down a short corridor and there will be a blank wall. SO if i put a altar facing main door, it will also face the wall when iopen the door which i feel not so nice. Thus i am thinking of placing it to face the windows.
