musicbox 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2011 I think it depends on how many and what kind of quality you want. For me, i didn't spend much on lightings, you can see my post here:http://mylittlecasa.blogspot.com/2011/09/down-lights-ceiling-lights-wall-lights.htmlIf you're on tight budget, u can consider buying from Malaysia also. collins 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2011 in fact, it depends on how much you'd like to bring out the effort you put into the interior design and renovation. Lighting plays a vital part in revealing the texture and ambiance of the space. Investing a few hundreds more on lighting will make a lot of difference. it takes a lot more work to add infrastructure such as lighting after the initial renovation work. My advise for lighting budget is S$2k and seek advise from ID and lighting specialist to help you on the lighting design.

ejzoen 3 Report post Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) during my reno, my id say no need to buy all expensive lamp. all u need is 1 very very designer one and the rest can be as minimal as possible.cos the first impression people see is ur first lamp they open the door. reason being, it at the eye level & sets the mood for the home. I bought mostly track light and down light in my home, but i blew a big one on dining table Artichoke Replica [$490] together with nice dining chairs as its the first lamp people see when i open my door. Also subsequently, i bought a Arco lamp replica [$385] for the living room corner as its was separated from the dining area. [L shape living room] Will be buying some nice table lamps later as this are good assets to bring to our next home. Edited April 10, 2013 by ejzoen

winger 1 Report post Posted July 22, 2013 Depends on what type of lights you need. Some people just use downlight throughout the house. Will cost about $1k+If you add in cove lights (T5) maybe another $500 depending on how many you need.Mix in 1 or 2 chandeliers will cost you another $200-$700 depending on what you choose. For lighting, must remember not to just go for the cheapest or listen to whatever claim the salesman tell you. Ask for warranty. Without good warranty, all is bull**** one. For LED downlight (very popular nowadays), at least must have 2 year onsite warranty. Or else not worth it. Cos the savings will only come after 1 year+. Onsite warranty is important because it will take away all worries. Isn't it good to have all problems fixed by simply making a phone call.
