Recommended Posts

We just bought a resale 4 room hdb.

Wandering we shoud take 1 to 3 inverter or non-inverter?

1.) 3 bedroom in aircon.

2.) might only on one aircon from 10pm til 7am

I had hear that normaly if often on 2 to 3 aircon at the same, inverter will be save the bills. It's that true?

we are consider 1 to 3 fujitsu

Hello Alice916,

The inverter shouldn't save much $$$ if you don't run the Air/con for more than 8 hours on the daily basis.

It doesn't really save that much for a normal home usage.

Just stick with your non-inverter and choose the one with the higher energy star.

comparatively speaking, inverter benefits are mostly tangible under the following operating conditions.

Under partial load conditions. If both types are operating under full load, then inverter not much difference in terms of energy saving.

Inverter got better temp control, less variation compared to non inverter, and also quieter with less relay turn on turn off.

Inverter can give more BTU cooling power per A of current. This is very important for apts with current limitation.

Whether is 8 hr or more operation, that is basically a cost recovery vs higher initial cost trade off.

Personally, I am 100% for inverter aircons simply becuase I am very sensitve to temperature fluctuations.

The StarMex also come out with non-inverter but using the new eco-friendly R410 gas. Maybe u can consider (if available).

may i know any differet if use the R410 gas? as i know that's environment friendly. will it affect the energy?

so far...what i know is:

old gas R21:

- vendor said going to replace by R410 in 4-5 years time.

- cheaper in replacing

new gas R410 (use in inverter)

- few hundred $ than R21

- faster cooling => cool faster mean the unit will reach the temp faster, then the unit can rest early if I understand correctly.

- equipment that use R410 last longer cos more "clean"

- no generate BAD oxygen ?

I think that joker quoted you wrongly, it should be around $10 more only!

Oh, i mean the unit not the gas. Cos when I want to change from StarMEX R21 model to R410 model, I need to add $100 more. If want to upgrade to better grade of insulation, xtra $ also.

Icic.

Actually good insulation depend on workmanship and material used, for the insulation material the best is the white color type, it come in pair (incoming and outgoing)and the copper pile are seal together with the white insulator, these would prevent leakage also.
