zeny 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 Thanks for the fast reply.I actually meant overlay laminated floor over the homogenous tiles. feel a waste but told will be more cosy looking with laminate floor..u have problem maintaining the tiles then? Tiles is the easiest to maintain !! cos they are not afraid of water like wood/laminated wood one bucket of water + some floor detergent...and you can clean the whole house with easy laminates are layed over cement screed and not homo or any other tiles, because a firm level base is required before the laminate wood can be layed. UNLESS you intend to do a platform as cosy corner then you can lay the tiles 1st then build the platform over it ..... at least when you removed the platform, the tiles below the matches the surrounding tiles

zeny 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2007 (edited) thanks zenybeen helpful. how about toilet floor tiles? if i am changing, should i overlay better or hack off and redo? !!hmm.... overlay the toilet tile is cheaper than hack off and redo so it is petty much depend on your budget but then overlay has it problem too. some people worried that the bottom tiles that is not properly layed may pop up one day and damage the overlayed tiles. for me it is hacked and redo..complimentary from HDB Edited September 15, 2007 by zeny
