Pepsiblack 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2021 Hi guys, need some advice. I was told that my resale flat seller regretted selling the house after I started to exercise the option and he jumped at the chance to cancel the deal when my cheque for the remaining 4% OTP bounced due to signature irregularity. Shun bian makan the 1% that I have already paid him. He refused to accept the new cheque that I issued immediately after I found out the cheque bounced. My law firm dealing with the conveyance says that it’s the first time they have seen sellers calling off the deal in this manner but nothing can be done. Do I still have any options left? I’m also facing mortgage loan penalty for the non-disbursement 😞 1% means alot to me and it wasn’t like I wanted the cheque to bounce..

ahluo 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2021 (edited) would like to know as well. am in the same position as you..4% cheque bounced as we forgot to transfer funds on OTP expiry date and we were notified the next day. At that point in time we advised our lawyer that we could immediately bank transfer the 4% over, however seller's lawyer inform us that the seller rejected it and sale was no longer valid. Both agents tried to salvage the situation to no avail and it was later let known to us that the seller wants to pocket the 1% and remarket their property for sale.
