Apartment ceiling is NOT made of concrete

Hi,

My HDB apartment ceiling is not made of concrete but instead it is like a false ceiling (not sure if its called board ceiling). Apparently all the apartments on my floor have ceilings like this. I'm living on the highest floor (4th floor).

My question is : Am i able to install a ceiling fan in my apartment? My ID says yes it can be done but I'm not quite convinced (i did notice that none of the apartments installed a ceiling fan). What do you all think?

It’s possible but your contractor will need to add some support such that the fan base is secured to the actual concrete ceiling above the board.
