Cost to renovation

Hihi, I’m considering to buy an old house with a land size 3500, I’m not intend to do A&A, but the house condition is really very bad. Wondering how much will it cost if I reno the whole house which is 2 story with a built up 3200sqft. The condition is really bad, seems need to Reno everything including car porch, while house roofing, interior..... everything. Anybody have ideas how much will it cost? And is it worth to do so?

depends on how extensive you wish to do.
change all electrical and plumbing may cost you maybe 50k to 80k
carpentry maybe 40k to 100k
painting around 20k
roofing works maybe 30k?
if you want to redo the flooring add on another 50k to 80k. you want marble/granite then budget more
change all windows maybe another 50k
change all doors another 10k to 20k
change all aircon another 20k (no ducted aircon)

also put in your budget for your furniture, appliances

worth the money or not is subjective. if you are fine with all the rooms layouts then a major renovation will do.

also it depends on your long term plans. if this is going to be your retirement home, then it is worth to spend a bit more to do up everything nicely so that it can last the next 20 to 30 years. if this is purely for investment purpose, then do the minimum you need to live in it properly and then sell the house when you are ready.
