eR1c 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2007 Today, was at my new house at ard 12noon, the electrician was there oredi and doing up my lightings and downlights. Then discovered that 4 of the downlights was installed wrongly. The four small downlight which was supposed to be for my L-Box in the living room was installed on my dinning area. And the hole for medium downlight was cut at my L-Box. Told the electrician that the wrong downlights was installed. He was also puzzled coz yesterday, we went thru which downlight was for which location and he had placed those downlight at the location too. Somehow, the downlights was shifted and he didn't notice it. Then i remembered that when i was there last nite with a friend, there are people working on the doors and they were also sweeping the floor. So they must have re-arranged the downlights while sweeping the floor. Anyway, all was not lost as i just shift the location for the small downlights at the living room L-box and it still look nice. Here are some of the photos for the lightingsStoreroom simple florescent lightStudy room lightMBR light. (the downlight for the MBR was not yet installed when i left my new house)The 6 downlights in the false ceiling in living roomThe living room light and the front 2 small downlightThe living room light and the back 2 small downlightThe dinning pendant light(without flash)(another view)
eR1c 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) Today, went to Best Denki at IMM to pay up the balance of the Philips LCD TV that i bought. While i was there, walk around the Home Theatre Section and was drawn to a Home Theatre System from Yamaha which cost $698. The speakers are small and so i ask for a demo from the sales assistant. The speakers are ok, but the sub woofer is not good, the bass sounds scatter and not sharp. Then the sales assistant told me that if i got this set, i can buy another better sub woofer for $200 to replace it. He showed me the sub woofer and the it sounds slightly better than the previous, but the bass is still scatter. The the sales assistant show me another Home Theatre System which has the same receiver as the previous system, but the speakers are much better. It cost $1338. After listening to quite a few demo dvds and cd, i found myself like the system more and more. The speaker sounds much better and the sub woofer's bass is much sharper than the previous 2 subwoofers. Was debating with myself whether to buy or not. eR1c 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2007 Yeah! Next Sat, my new house will be handover liao. Yesterday was at my new house with the renovator and went thru the house. There are some defects like cuts on the cabinets and wardrobe doors. All this will be rectify. Also, my air-con will be installed on wednesday. Monday, the plumber will come and installed the MBR toilet bowl and also the rest of the taps.. etcThe cornices will be fully up and the holes on the false ceiling that are cut to installed the downlights will be cover up. Final coat of paint for master bedroom and touch up on any paint works. Kitchen cabinet table top will also be installed next week. Then they will do all the cleaning of the windows, the kitchen and toilets walls, and also they will do an acid wash on the floors. Checked with my renovator regarding the slight uneven surface between the homogeneous tiles. He told me that after the acid wash, they will apply wax on the floor and then polish it even. Also they will do one more filling of the gout (dunno the spelling) between the tiles. Can't wait for next sat to arrive.. hahahain the mean time, have to hasten my pace of packing my house liao...but now, going out with friends to Karaoke... hahaha
