For the same capacity refrigerator, the power consumption is about the same. If you want to save electrical bill, can consider those new Inverter type refrigerator (same technology as air-con, ie. those non-inverter and inverter type). But the cost is of the refrigerator is of cos higher too and there is only one or two models in our market that use inverter.

The fridge will be most energy-efficient when it is new. As it age, the efficiency will drop. Some fridge excel when comes to power consumption but they are expensive. So you will need to consider the Return of Investment. So, try to choose a fridge you can afford and comfortable with.

Page 3 has a Toshiba.

Anyway, the list is not absolute and you should calculate the energy used versus the size (volume) of it. But like what some of the previous posts states, the estimated annual cost can be negligible.

Panasonic and mitsubishi have some models of inverter... saw them while shopping for fridge..

Panasonic

Mitsubishi

Anyway, I bought TOSHIBA fridge, also 3 doors, Model: GR-M45SDV at $690 from Hong Liang. But TOSHIBA having some promotion now, think go most shop can get vouchers back, so in the end after taking the vouchers, price should be around the same if they don't charge delivery.... !!

i have been looking at fridges too... and many salesmen have recommended me the new Panasonic inverter series cos they said its more energy saving.. since the compressor is also at the bottom... do not need much energy to transfer to the top freezer...

at the moment no body recommended me panasonic inverter leh

how much of that?

one of the boss lady recomand me Hitachi which's the freezer at the bottom, and she said it's energy save. but another shops of boss saying that, if freeze at the bottom, it can save the energy, cos it the top later not enught cold, then the merchine will need to push the bottom freeze reach to the top layer, which i also felt that make sence.
