almatador 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 OK. this is another quote with Ms.Lim frm Allbest.Starmex - mitsubishi easy clean (4 check for environmental friendly and energy saving):System 2-in-1 Inverter : S$2000System 3-in-1 Inverter : S$2600System 4-in-1 Inverter : S$3500above is 3/8" insulator, WITH GST and with installation etc. Non inverter one should be cheaper by 500-700 I thinkpersonally I feel if 2 or more bedroom switch on the aircon most of the time, then it's better to have inverter.for calculation.. hehe.. this really have to check with the expert.Hi,Just to share some of the new things I learnt about aircon when I visited Best Tech on Sunday...Who are those who should consider Inverters Aircon? eg. For a single room, if you turn on the aircon for 8 hrs daily, you should consider an inverter. However, if you only require it for an hr or 2 daily, there should not be a need.Difference in the way non-inverters and inverter aircon compressor work? For non-inverter, typically has only 1 speed of operation, whereas inverters can work at different speeds.Difference in the way the motor works? For non-inverters, since it only goes on or off (no inbetween), more energy is used up whenever you need to start the motor from rest repeatedly. (ie. non-inverters always turns on/off inbetween usage, off when the desired temperature is attained.)As for inverters, the motor will be in operation continuously. But based on the needs, it's speed may vary.To explain how inverters save more energy, lets imagine if we are driving. Over a trip that takes 8hrs (regardless of distance), which would use up more fuel? One that has lots of traffic lights, where you have to continuously start and stop every few minutes? Or one where you just start off, and move at a continuous speed?Hope this sharing is useful
almatador 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 Hi,For those who have completed renovation or in the midst of it, may I know if a system 4 compressor (Toshiba or Mit Starmex) can go out of the aircon ledge window?Thanks....
