gadgetgal 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 pls share the brand of ceiling fans you guys re intending to get? most likely we are installing a ceiling fan as we are not going to install aircon in my living room but i have never try living with a ceiling fan at home hahaI saw the brand name crestar enterprise. I think crestar brand. but dunno where to get the exact same one I am looking for (plus a remote, the one I saw is a pull-string type), hope to get one with five lights protrude down from the fan with either tube like or flower design (me a bit old-fashion one..haha..) and must have remote one (me lazy bone ). Some say KDK is very good, my old folks also say so, personally I think more or less the same.Crestar enterprise21 Lorong Ampas #07-00Hai Nan Industrial BuildingSingapore 3258762Also, saw some along Balestier road, which we kinda like, but we're kind put off by the fact that the blade of the ceiling fan is made of wood (well it's heavy and may not give cool feeling, personal perspective feels that steel may be better). Those cost around 300+ (cheapest, some try to chop your head by asking 400++)Most probably, we'll be installing ceiling fan (with attached light at the bottom) and also aircon in living rooms. (well, standing fan takes place). Just personal opinion (no offense to those doing L-box tho), I won't be doing L-box and install lights on L-box either, as we feel not so practical, well they looks nice, but warm with those yellow lights, and again u need to install aircon to cool it down. (me doing cornices only)
OnePostWonder 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 what's the price of a ceiling fan?I dunno if I should install 2 air-cons in the living/dining room and just 1 in the MBR... I was given a system-3 air-con by my ID
bee joy 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Hi BEEYeah, your contractor should ask you first. Is that I call hidden cost?Do it first and tell yhou later?Tell him you are very tight and unable to cough up $1k+, tell him to reduce a bit.I will leave the price issue aside first. Wait till he finish most work... THEN discuss price with him. I am afraid that if i bargain the additional price with him now he's going to markup higher for other additional items later in the renovation jus to cover his cost... almatador 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 i did not manage to get the pic of the window pane tonight. but what i meant was that it's better to pay $200 to replace the window pane then to pay $700 more for the air-con. can be done, trust me... i manage to take pic of the original basin & toilet bowl but i do not know how to attach the pics. i'm willing to let go both items at $100. is this price special enough? Hi Vince,Can I just check if the aircon ledge window is considered part of the original fixtures that we are not suppose to touch? Cos my contractor says it shouldn't be touched...Tried looking up hdb webby, but no useful information

linggie 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 my bf and i were also discussing, but because we believe 1 aircon cannot cool our living room which is quite big so might as well dont install aircon in the living room, save us some money as well...well it depends how often you will switch on aircon in your living room...furthermore you are living on high storey, might not even need the air-con

gadgetgal 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2007 Hi,Is there any standard/requirement to the type of windows grill install on our flat? Do we need to follow any pattern?THank so much in advance.Yes, you need to follow the pattern which will be given out when you collect your key from HDB.Thanks for reminding me too . I may need to pass that picture of pattern to my renovator as well.my bf and i were also discussing, but because we believe 1 aircon cannot cool our living room which is quite big so might as well dont install aircon in the living room, save us some money as well...well it depends how often you will switch on aircon in your living room...furthermore you are living on high storey, might not even need the air-con Well, for us we chose ceiling fan and air-con (don't wish to hack walls or install split-con next time when we think of getting one in the future). It is going to be one time and that's it!. we may choose to switch it on either ceiling fan or aircon when we got guest or some occassion or festives.I saw in some other forum which mentioned, switching a fan and air-con may bring the room/area cool faster and save more electricity. (not sure how true it is, but looks logical to me)Btw, you bought "A 3D goldfish Protrait- $350" ? Is the fish moving?. was thinking to get one synthetic aquarium portrait where the fishes can move around, and no need to maintain the tank itself!. (Not sure whether got such item or not... )
