nemofc 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Some updates for my unit!Just submitted for Cement screeding to HDB, hopefully they can do it fast .Hopefully all work will start rolling in the next 3 weeks after cement screeding. In the mean time was thinking to search for Washing Machine (7-8kg load) and Fridge (>600 liter) as Tilers need to know the dimension for both of the bases.Next thing to buy is Lights, Aircon and then only toilet accessories. For the 5-rm flat owner, what did you do with your shower screen for the common toilet, it seems that we can't install the "swing" type (due to toilet bowl and shower tap on a different side), seems like only can install "sliding" type.Anyone any comments?. not sure if 4-rm flats also have the same issue or not.Was wondering if the toilet user/guests did not "slide" the door back when shower, it still defeats the purpose, as the whole toilet will get wet. With "swing" type, user may be "forced" to a certain extent to close it.Anyone any suggestion on the "sliding" shower screen for common toilet issue?.you doing parquet for your whole house?i guess, we will still do the shower screen (sliding ones) as the "swing" type like space limited. Existing in-laws toilet also using sliding one but still wet when users came out after bath. i guess, i will use both the sliding screen.i'm more headache of the kitchen layout & MBR layout. Anyone out there can show your kitchen & MBR layout here?

Cindy-Monkeybone 1 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 From my personal experience, "YES, IDs do earn a comm!". I went to a light shop in Jalan Besah. The listed price was rather X. The sales guy tell me that price is before discount. The price stated was $235. Guess wat's the price after discount...... $135. My eye balls was going round in circles... n was saying "WOW, yr mark-up is so high!!". The explanation straight from the horse's mouth was "That stated price are for those who come in with IDs". So those who hvn't buy yr lightings... DON'T go with your IDs. I hv got quotes for my lightings ranging from $1350 to $750, stating the similar items, mainly PLC lights.Yox! U seems to have many information on lightingDo u know where I can nice and cheap light for my dinning table ?

The rest, homo tiles.Nemo, thanks for the shower screen info !.will think about it and go to the site again or probably view others show flat as well.i'm still waiting for my revised design of the MBR too.. but a simple kitchen of mine shld b more or less like this:(compare original and design)xlan,.. nice design and drawings you have there!.just wondering, where do you place your washing machine?. is it at the back of the kitchen sink?.I am still struggling with the color of my kitchen cabinet, and the color of tiles for cement support for hob and sink. as well as my granite top (either black or white). if I go for white kitchen cabinet, it will turn yellow very soon.Anyone any advice?you doing parquet for your whole house?i guess, we will still do the shower screen (sliding ones) as the "swing" type like space limited. Anyone out there can show your kitchen & MBR layout here?Nemo, our kitchen layout has nothing fancy. we plan to take out the retractable piece of steel, and replace with top kitchen cabinet, and bottom will be kitchen sink (at the corner by the window will be our washing machine). While hob and hood will be on the other side (longer side of the wall near to the corner).Fridge will be next to the kitchen entrance, which follow a full height kitchen cabinet (for us to place Oven and/or microwave). Still not sure about built-in oven and/or microwave. Some salesman at Harvey Norman mentioned that most kitchen cabinet can't take the heat of the built-in oven, so it may spoilt or turn yellowish in within a year.Well my MIL bakes a lot, not sure whether we should go for built-in one or table-top/portable one. (was thinking to build one as she likes that kinda design a lot).Anyone any advice?. (probably anyone has any experience on this?)

But will keep the hanging retractable one.as for the oven, we will opt for portable one. As thinking of long term maintenance/ cleaning part issue, i abit worry. currently, we are using a portable one at in-laws place and not really use that EXCEPT for christmas, function.hi gadgetgal! thanks! yup if u can see the little green leaves behind the sink.. tat indicates where my washing machine will be.. if u scare to turn yellowish.. how abt light grey?xlan, thanks for you pix & was thinking along that design too. After follow up and keep chasing, it is done within a week. (not much defect though, only some scratches on the door).

When u pull that out, its just very short piece of metal only,no point to keep it unless its long enough for u to hang alot of cloths. just my opinion,no offence to anyone =)
