Hi,

Talked with the salesperson on inverters before...

generally, if u do not turn on the aircon for more than 1 room frequently, an inverter doesn't save much on electricity.

eg.

for 2 rm, save 10%

for 3 rm, save 20%

for 4 rm, save 30% (pls correct me if these figures are wrong)

Though of getting a system 4 as well.... but on second thought, since we may not use it that frequent, and at most frequent, only for 1 room, i'm thinking of getting 2 system 2s...

Benefit

1. Should 1 compressor spoils, at least i can still use the other system

2. Typically a system 4 is not powerful enough to cool 4 rooms simultaneously. (ie. not enough to go ard). But 2 separate sets of compressors shld solve the problem :good:

pls comment....

Yes if you everynite on air con, then by all means.

If you seldom on and only on the air con once in the blue moon, might as well take 1 or 2 split units.

So next time you want to have extra air con, buy 2 split unit again. Means 4 units = 2 compressors.

Hi Cindy

One contractor told me if want air con, go for gain city as they are cheap.

Rather than ask the contractor to source for us cos' gain city installation is cheaper.

And he can supervise the gain city man while installing the air con.

Well, preferred to go for value for money.

Gain city is not that cheap, a trip to the site (IMM) last weekend have the price different by S$300-400 for a (??), can't remember either system 4-in-1 or system 3-in-1. with a 3/8" insulator. (Personally it's safer to go for 1/2" insulator, if it's hidden inside your L-box).

Allbest is pretty cheap, and their installation is pretty fast too!. my existing aircon was installed by them 2 years ago, and is still running fine n trouble free now.

Allbest gives you one price, and that is the final price. (even tho gain city give high price and bargainable, the best price still can't beat allbest). anyway, below is the rough guide for Allbest.

Starmex - mitsubishi easy clean (4 check for environmental friendly and energy saving):

System 2-in-1 Inverter : S$2140

System 3-in-1 Inverter : S$2738

System 4-in-1 Inverter : S$3538

All above based on 3/8" insulator plus installation (hacking and trunking) and the casement.

For 1/2" insulator, each air-con will need to top-up S$40.

It would be good if anyone have other supplier who can give better price than this, it would be also good to have their background check on the installation work as well.

sorry i very ignorant :dribble:

Not sure about best tech though, but if you go to IMM gaincity (3rd floor I think, near Faxico), the shop beside gaincity is AllBest - phone 65636266.

talked to a guy called Roy, and was given that price. Somehow I misplaced the price they gave last time.

My ID provide me with Fuji Air, 3-in-1, if dun want, reduce $1500, if want other brands, top up accordingly... I am open to bulk buying also, but may I know who is getting non-inverter here? We cannot decide on getting inverter or non-inverter, System 3 or system 4, can anyone here advise?

Lets say, our consumption will be :

MBR - 8 hours (daily)

BR2 - 3-4 hours (3 days a week)

BR3 - 4 hours (2 day a month)

living room - not sure will be using anot, if have, probably 4-8 hours (2 days a week)..

Based on the above, what do u guys suggest, get system 3 or 4, inverter or not inverter?

OK. this is another quote with Ms.Lim frm Allbest.

Starmex - mitsubishi easy clean (4 check for environmental friendly and energy saving):

System 2-in-1 Inverter : S$2000

System 3-in-1 Inverter : S$2600

System 4-in-1 Inverter : S$3500

above is 3/8" insulator, WITH GST and with installation etc.

Non inverter one should be cheaper by 500-700 I think

personally I feel if 2 or more bedroom switch on the aircon most of the time, then it's better to have inverter.

for calculation.. hehe.. this really have to check with the expert.

They quote you S$3850 for System 4in1 aircon?!.

Actually that was the kind of price gaincity quoted me as well, but after bargain I think they go down to 37xx.

The price I check is Starmex-mitsubishi easy clean (4 green tick - for environmental friendly). From what I understand Starmex price is generally higher, some say due to the ads by Jack Neo.

I spoken to the lady about bulk purchase, she just smile/chuckled and ask me to come down for selection/booking. should be able to nego for bulk purchase quar.. more bargaining power if go together.

hi all neighbours, i've gotten a toshiba 4-in-1 invertor from gain city (don't have the model number off-hand).

just to share that other than the invertor/non-invertor affecting the prices, the btu (how powerful is the compressor) also plays a part. ie. if you get a cheaper unit with a lower btu, when you turn on the living room unit & master bedroom units at the sametime, you may not be able to experience cool/cold air in the bedroom. another factor is whether the quoted prices include extended warranty. normally the warranty period for parts is just 1 year (extendable to 5 years with a cost of about $400-$500) do take note. :(

thanks vince for sharing,

we also got a LG 4 in 1 (mirror model, with free option to change cover design) from gain city.

gain city advised us the same thing also, all 4 aircon cannot run simultaneously with a low BTU compressor(usually listed on their displayed price list).

we've upgraded compressor, pipes, and bought warranty(insurance) of up to 5 years, end up

paying 4K plus, quite high but at least anything happen to the aircon within 5 years, insurance covers it.

Wow you guys did alot of background. I am interested in mass order if it really able to get at a cheaper price..hehe

As for the insulator can I check if there are different grade for that because I heard from friends that there are different grade not sure if its true...:)
