I went to the buy a sink and the sales person told me undermount for solid surface top.However, my id advise top mount to prevent seepages? if not next time, need to change the whole solid surface?any advise? lawry 3 Report post Posted June 5, 2007 Why would there be seepage when it's properly done and silicon sealed?I would suggest undermount, at least all the water's contained within. applefreak 1 Report post Posted June 5, 2007 top mount is when a hole is cut in the counter surface and the sink is just plonked into it, the way kitchen hobs are placed.undermount means the sink is placed on the support then the countertop comes onto it so you won't be seeing the sides of the sink.it really depends on your needs and what sink you wantif you are getting a sink with drainer, then top mount will be good enough lohi'm getting one without so will undermount my sink.most sinks can be top or under mounted except certain sinksbest to check will the salesperson Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
