Does playing video games affect symptoms of anxiety and/or depression?

Recommended Posts

Hello, fellow gamers!

I am currently conducting a research study for my Master’s Thesis and I could use your help. I am researching the effects of video game play on the symptoms of anxiety and depression. I just want you to leave a comment with your age, gender and whether you agree with the statement or not!

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I don't need any names or other information that will show your identity!

Good day everyone, my name is Ruslan, I am 27 years old. So, on the one hand, I can agree with your statement, because playing video games can stimulate the excess of emotion, especially to kids and there are a lot of cases when this situations ended very bad. But I would say that everything is excess is harmful and we don't need to blame video games. There are many people who are positioning video games as a part of their lives, a source of income, as an anti stress etc. Personally, I play csgo and sell csgo skins, I received a lot of pleasure and good money as well and I don't have any problems even if I'm getting angry sometimes.

Don't know about depression and anxiety, I saw many situations when games could trigger a person in to a state of rage because he has lost of missed something in the game. It affected him so much that he started to break things and in anger so many bad words were spoken that all people surrounding him thought he is not healthy mentally at all.  Most amusing thing is that all of this scene lasted for 1 or 2 minutes and afterwards he sat again back to his chair and continued to play the same game, but very calmly.  It's not about the games, it's about the person who plays.  Some of them should not play at all if they are affected so much negatively to the point of having breakdown.

Don’t be so surprised. Playing video games with violence content is the worse. Games like shooters especially.  I saw so many times kids that were swearing so hard because they died in a game. I was amazed how they could even know those words. It was nothing to them, they were full of anger and uncontrolled emotional behavior. If parents will ask them to shut down their games, they answered in the same way. Crying, beating and damaging stuff around them. Kids are like sponges and if they absorb such emotions, nothing good will happen as they will grow up. Silenced, isolated and full of hatred. So many cases are present in our days. You can see videos on YouTube, a lot of them. Grown-ups easily are spotted, but they try to hide their anger from the guests or people that surrounds them in public places. I had a friend who liked gaming but had these type of side effects, and I introduced something special to him called red bali  kratom, now he plays calmly and when he loses, he laughs! It works like doctors prescription.

When I was previously suffering from depression, I most often played video games and it helped me hide from reality in the world that I wanted to see. I think it was my mistake. Do not forget about the real world, as this is the worst option to overcome such a disease. Look for something like green malay kratom, red kratom, and so on. I've heard that by doing this, we make it worse for ourselves. In my life, I have known a case where a person was so isolated in games that he barely distinguished the real from the fictional. Games are good, but no more than an hour a day.

I've never felt bad playing video games. On the contrary I have felt great and alive. I've been an avid gamer for more than a decade and it's a daily habit nowadays. Are you still waiting on a friend to play Call of Duty as we are having a great thing that is killing it online. It took me a lot of hours in front of a screen touch you search results and I have to say I regret the fact that I developed eating issues and I had to be admitted at a point to a rehab where eating disorders are treated . Please I had the chance of dealing with it early on another line myself to have the condition worsening!

Well, it depends on what kind of game you're playing and how you react to losses. Me, when I play DOTA 2 or other similar games, I get very angry because of the large number of idiots. Even if I play Minecraft I can't stay on one server for long. I have to look for good sites with servers. So far I found only one - https://minecraftservers.biz. If you have any sites you use too, please share. I need more so I don't break my computer out of spite. Thank you in advance. But my friend when he plays is the calmest person in the world. How? His stony face annoys me. Maybe because I'm a little jealous that he's so calm. Or maybe he's on sedatives.

First of all, a person faced with this kind of mental health problems should immediately seek help from a specialist. This is serious and one should not try to cope with it on one's own.

And if the situation is not so serious, for example, I'm tired after work and do not want activity, then I can spend the evening playing the playstation or online games such as https://aussiecasinospot.com/free-online-pokies/. Depends on the situation, in any case.

I see no problem when playing video games from time to time. It's terrible when you play every night and every day that I called already social anxiety. Why? Because people who spend more time next to a screen are likely to avoid the real world. They are not confident; they are afraid of someone who is looking in their eyes directly. They have no friends. I coped with this disorder five years from now. My parents tried so hard to get me out of this situation. Now, I prefer to stay at home just at night, when I have to sleep.

When I had a gaming addiction, it didn't affect my anxiety at all, and I think it's weird. But it definitely affected my weight because I wasn't going out, and all I did was play games and consumed food. Thankfully, I got rid of this addiction with some help from my friends, and Bio X4 reviews made me buy this supplement that helped me get back in good shape.
