Crystal/glass "string Curtains" - Where To Buy?

Recommended Posts

can share what you did instead of the hacking? Pm me if not convenient to reveal here.

hmmzz maybe out layout is the same. is yours 4rm 90m2?full lenght windows in living room and 3/4 windows in both bedrooms cept master?

Oh, I think our layout is different - mine is 5-rm.

Anyway, sure can share, why not? But unlike you, my grouse was the lack of space for a WIW, not with the size of my toilet. If you see the layout in my blog, I wanted to hack the other side of my MBR's toilet, so that I can build a WIW at the future study area of my living room. However, I had decided expand my MBR into the living area by shifting the MBR's door forward (towards the windows) and build the WIW in that area instead. Erm, not sure if you understand my poor explanation, but in a nutshell, my living/dining becomes smaller while my MBR becomes bigger lor.

Well my toilet remains the same small size lah, but since we cannot hack, cannot change tiles, etc, I rather just leave it and wait for 3 yrs to do it altogether. I am not even keen to overlaying the tiles, because I had heard too much problems about it.

I just spotted them today at a shop in Katong Mall. Please call before you go. Shops there are notorious for having erratic opening hours.

I just edited my post. Realised I didn't post the name of the shop earlier. It's House of Fabric. On the 1st floor or Katong Mall is a rather popular curtains shop called Karbell or something like that. Opposite Cold Storage. You might want to check Karbell out.

is this what u're looking for?

here

Hey that's a great find! How did you find this auction, or are you also looking for these as well?

However not exactly what I wanted because these are still plastic beads coated with chrome finish, which does not give out the sparkle and 'rainbow' reflection as glass/crystal would.

Think this auction seller is specialised in this, think I will email him to ask if he got glass/crystal ones. Thanks again!

i've found another website that sells nice crystal beads curtains..

the beaded curtain

this is very nice!:notti:

I am looking out for this kinda wooden bead curtain here but it is not the pattern that I am looking for :yamseng:

I remember my old house used to put this kind of bead curtain at the archway from the living room to the kitchen.. it was very nice.. I wanted to put it at my main entrance acting as a divider.. cos no $$ for the build in divider/ screen :yamseng:

The wooden beaded curtains remind me of the 70's when my mother hung one up at the doorway to the kitchen, in our tiny flat then at Stirling Road!

Just visited Katong Mall today, however was told by House of Fabrics and Karbell that they do not carry such 'curtains' at all.

*sighz*

I thought this would be easy to find...

Sorry, zirhk. Both places do have the string curtains though. I'd to review the pictures you posted again to see what you're actually looking for! One of the business associates of Karbell told me just 2 days ago, that the normal string curtains are very popular these days, made popular with the glistening ones you posted. And today, when I was at Tung Lok Signature at VivoCity, I saw the white ones used in their private rooms.

Oh no, I think I had misled you with the title of the thread - these are actually not glistening string curtains, they are actual glass/crystal/acrylic pieces strung together with rings/strings.

Unfortunately the white string curtains at tung lok also do not fall into the category of what I am looking for. Sighz...almost got into an argument with my wife today, as she chided me for searching the whole island for such items!

She is not to blame, actually, as I was in a bad mood after leaving Katong Mall. Maybe because I am a 'stranger' to Katong Mall, but the people in Karbell or House of Fabrics were quite hostile. At Karbell, two women behind the counter were having packed lunch at about 1+. The moment I stepped in, their STARES made me felt like a trespasser who had just intruded into someone's house during dinner-time. They stopped their conversation just to stare at me, as if wondering in unison, "Who is this guy? What is he doing in our shop??"

Same for an old auntie at House of Fabrics, who was chatting away happily until stranger me stepped in. With a top-to-bottom sweeping look, she placed the cordless phone against her shoulder, "YESSSS???"
