Issit Stupid To Spend 7 Thousand For Toilets ?

i am now in the midst of re reno my house ... i feel tat to spend 7 k to remake 2 toilets is abit lame but i also duno if there is another choice ?

any comments n suggestions pls ??

Well, maybe you can spend more on one toilet and less on another. And then factor in the amount of time you spend at home and in the toilet. Bottom line is that you can't spend all your time in the toilet and you can't be in 2 toilet at the same time.

haiz ... i really duno wat to do .. i wanna remake my toilet but heart pain to spend so much on it ... i tot of any toilet minimalist ideas tat can help me cut cost ...

maybe you want to share what this $7k consist of

e.g. hacking and retiling, changing all WCs, basins and installing raindance, redoing waterproofing etc

you may want to consider spraying instead of hacking and retiling

getting cheap WCs and basins, using instant heater etc to cut cost

Yes if you don't have the extra cash which can be used on other stuff like electronics/ furnishing and No if you have the cash and you're going to visit the toilets everyday for at least 10 more years... that's 10 x 365 = 3650 days of "WHY I DIDN'T DO IT?!?!"

sad to say that toilets are the 2nd most expensive part of the home renovation.

yeah ... toilets is really the 2nd most expensive part of renovating the whole house ... so terrible ...

I was thinking if it is possible for me to get my ID to do the whole house and leave the 2 toilets alone ? then i call contractor directly to reno my 2 toilets ..

will that be cheaper ??

you can get quote from other contractor.

but it will be disadvantage to you. because the lesser reno of the house the more expensive it will be. hope u understand what i say.

if you had already got ur ID it will be better to get them to do it. At least when anything happen you can just approach to one person. If you get two different person to settle ur renovation they will sure blame fault on other and not themselves.

Last time, I dun even want to renovate my toilet. but glad I changed my mind just when my house renovation is about 80% done to do up my toilet. Now everyday, when I "enjoy" myself in my simple-renovated toilet, I will simply admire and tell myself, money well spent....it makes life in the toilet more enjoyable.

i agree with devilaz. if u ask 2 different contractors to do, and if something goes wrong in ur house, they'll just start pointing the blame to the other person.

enci, maybe u wan to consider doing wat i do: i just overhaul my master bedroom toilet. FH wans a nice toilet but we can't afford to do both so we did one only. and it's the one we will be using the most since the common toilet is mainly for guests etc.

hello all

my 2 bathrooms also cost around 7k. but i think for hacking and tiling, plus shower screen and various sanitaryware... it is entirely possible to spend this amount and considered reasonable already... reno is a major cash outflow... but like what the rest say... better do it now... if not will regret! ahahahah (that became the excuse for every single add-on for my reno)
