A will have 20 more than C. B having 10 more than C. So you just divide (120-30)/3 = 30.

Add 20 to 30, A will have 50. B = 40. C = 30 :dancingqueen:

Can solve using algebra, but not sure if relevant?

Assume the amount that C receives is $X. So the following:

C = $X

B = $X + $10

A = $X + $10 + $10

Total $120 = 3X + $30,

3X = $120 - $30 = $90,

Thus X = $90 / 3 = $30.

A = $X + $10 + $10 = $30 + $10 + $10 = $50.

yup, that's what I recalled too. you might find it stupid but, that's the way to train when they are not ready for algebra yet.

nope, algebra is only available in secondary school if i'm not wrong....

come on, the purpose of that exercise is not to find the best way to solve problem, it's to train their brain to think lah. that's the basic foundation.
