lifestyle 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 Extra half feet is ok mate...i think it's better to have more than less table space in case you have a small gathering. If you find it too long than why not place one end of your dining table against your glass wall and bring out fully when you need it. This is what we are planning to do also.Have you decided on your dining chairs?woah..1.8m is long man...will make the table look oh so elegant. mine is 5ft long..which is about 1.5m long think...too long for my house lah...i should have gotten 4 half ft... myself for never measure properly. deepakvali 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 Hi deepakvali,Thanks for the info. I almost had a real cinema at my place but have to last minute drop the idea as want something more homely environment for the daugter and it clash with our design. Was looking at OSI screen. Future upgrade definitely How's your place? Got PJ? Yes agree with you that for those wishing to future proof best to have HDMI 1.3 as we see more & more devises making use of this.u could have designed your home as a movie theatre theme, can be very nice n cosy....i have yet to move to my new place but at my current place, have a dedicated room for HT and will do e same for my new place. yes me also using a Sharp PJ (1280x720) and upscaling to 720P at this moment only, prob when i move then will get a 1080P but pretty reluctant to do so till the HD/BR war ends hahaha. since havin my HT setup i have almost stopped going to Cinemas except to catch those movies that I cannot wait to be released on DVD.... lifestyle 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 HiWas thinking of either retractable screen or fixed screen to go with my design but i just could not find feasible solutions and within my budget...so in the end have to drop the idea. It's quite difficult when don't have a dedicated HT room like yours.u could have designed your home as a movie theatre theme, can be very nice n cosy....i have yet to move to my new place but at my current place, have a dedicated room for HT and will do e same for my new place. Now i think it will drag even longer with the latest news that Paramount and DreamWorks Animation Each Declare Exclusive Support for HD DVD So best to wait for affortable dual format player.yes me also using a Sharp PJ (1280x720) and upscaling to 720P at this moment only, prob when i move then will get a 1080P but pretty reluctant to do so till the HD/BR war ends hahaha.Ditto me too. Nw is nt the right time to buy any of the dual format plyer cos the source are till veri limited, invest in a decent dvd plyer first when 2yrs later then change when more source are release in the market. Is really veri costly to follow the upmarket so jus laid back abit and wait for the market to cool down.

Just seen Bourne Ultimatum. action packed... i wouldnt go for retractable screen as it tends to wrinkle at edges and tend to get pretty irritating to look at, go for a fixed screen, looks better too, however the trade off is if u have a TV, you have no place to mount/place the TV. well i sacrificed to end up with a dedicated room for HT, free up some space in living/dining as no massive electrical equip floating around, no big chunks of wires running around, guess its a trade off. lifestyle 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 Agreed on the wrinkle in the medium-long term. That was my main issue although i did found a solution that flat TV would retract up from the TV console...but $$$$i wouldnt go for retractable screen as it tends to wrinkle at edges and tend to get pretty irritating to look at, go for a fixed screen, looks better too, however the trade off is if u have a TV, you have no place to mount/place the TV.I would have no problem as all the wires will be conseal in false ceiling.well i sacrificed to end up with a dedicated room for HT, free up some space in living/dining as no massive electrical equip floating around, no big chunks of wires running around, guess its a trade off. keltic999 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Look at the shines on the floor.. Kitchen with paints for 2nd coat after the carpentry...can't wait to see the carpentry fixed HihiWow your place looks great. Excellent choice of colors and furnitures. Makes your place look sleek and modern. I guess our reno is at about the same stage...just pending the carpentry. I got quite a lot of carpentry in cabinet, wardrobe, platform bed, full height bedhead, divider cum shoe cabinet, HS feature wall, tv console cum feature wall, study room cabinet and L-shaped study table, MBR side cabinet ... gonna take awhile for all these carpentry stuff...BTW, yours is parquet flooring rite? Any idea if my wood laminate flooring needs polishing too???
