tim_chenie 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2007 Very satisfied with the commitment & workmanship of our electrician (Jeffrey from ....) so far . He is very details, neat & dedicated to his work. Does all the work by himself as he like to control over his workmanship.Hi lifestyle, Mind posting the Electrician Jeffrey contact and the package you got from him? Currently my electrician is quoting 2.5K for the whole house rewiring, but will require additional 300 to move the MCB down to adult height due to the new HDB regulation (my house is 4S Resale). Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. !! lifestyle 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2007 (edited) Thanks hencpu. My only complaint for the 17-40 is it's not fast enough at F4 and the newer faster wide angle lens (16-??mm) is a bit too expensive. You can look out for the new 40D when it launch soon Here are some more pics of neatness..miss this lens, used to enjoy the wide angle when using film camera last time, but now on 20D not so good i must say, ur electrician is really good & neat... lifestyle 0 Report post Posted August 1, 2007 Need urgently advice on the following:Would like to find out what is the different between Die Cast Aluminium Vs Die Cast Chrome for the spot light material? Which is better & why? Thanks a lot.
wtg54 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 Personally prefer Aluminium. Virtually rust proof. But best if they dun do any coating on the alum. Coz may fade. Chrome will fade. Especially if you stay near the sea. I dun think there is a cast chrome. Chrome is a coating usually applied to cast iron. See if the above makes sense. eR1c 0 Report post Posted August 2, 2007 die cast means they are formed from a die (a mould) and not cut to shape by machinery.aluminium are softer. and dun have those shining looks. aluminium are dull in colour.hmm... die cast chrome... i believe maybe is die cast steel or iron. and then chrome is applied to it.it is stronger, but the chrome may came off or flak off later... I also noticed that the chrome is a lot heavier (maybe due to the underlying steel/iron materials) compares to the die cast aluminium type. Most people also said chrome will peel off or tanished and have black color in the long run when exposed to strong heat from halogen light.Got also replied in the Renovation-Electrical Work forum ... here die cast means they are formed from a die (a mould) and not cut to shape by machinery.aluminium are softer. and dun have those shining looks. aluminium are dull in colour.hmm... die cast chrome... i believe maybe is die cast steel or iron. and then chrome is applied to it.it is stronger, but the chrome may came off or flak off later...
