little_sunshine 1 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 I'm not the expert in asthma, but have friends who do suffer from asthma. As I know, this can be a reaction to certain pollutants in the air as it reaches our lungs. The polluntants can be pollen, dust, or waste from dust mites, cigarette smoke, etc... They are normally classified as what is known as PM10, pollutants smaller than 10 mircons.Constant exposure to this can cause imflamation or reaction to the respiratory system. If we are able to remove PM10 from the air around us, especially at home when we sleep, this can help our body to recover some what over a period of time. When we get exposed to the polluntants again, the reaction will not be as bad. What some of my friends have done is to install a good air purifier in their house to clean up the air. There after, I have not heard them mention about asthma.
