snoozee 98 Report post Posted February 2, 2020 Your fridge should be in the kitchen which is considered a wet area so the floor would have a layer of waterproofing membrane coated below the screed and tile layer. So when hacking away the plinth for the fridge, if the workers hack too deeply, it may result in damage to the waterproofing membrane and this may result in leak to your downstairs neighbour if you wash the floor often.
