Rinnai Hood 972c, Can We Cut The Top Portion?

I bought a rinnai hood 972C, is it possible to cut the top portion to make it shorter? There is a beam blocking on top so I have to consider reducing the height to fit it in between the beam and hob.

y not? the purpose of making it into 2 parts is for height adjustment

That's true, thanks for the reply. I am just wondering what is the shortest height possible, browsed through the website but didnt manage to get any info.

Bought a similar model last month and the contractor cut off a portion bcos of the beam. When we tried it, there is no suction at all. Rinnai technician came down and told us that we couldn't chop off part of it for this type of hood. Maybe u can call up rinnai and check wif them. Their customer service quite good.
