joyven 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 i pay $300 to change the kitchen water pipe to stainless steel. My parents advise me to do so as they say that PVC joint will grow mouldy after a few yrs. Cause if the pipings are inside the cabinets, once it start to leak, den will have to tear down the cabinet to change it.

Mine is copper. Dun like steel partially because it will darken after some time and will be a mismatch with my shiny chrome fittings. And not easy to paint. As for copper, require painting and cheaper. Do you know there is something in the market apart from steel and copper? Its finishing is exactly like a chrome fittings. Very shiny. Dunno what it's exactly called. $$$ a bit. The person who sell my taps showed me and told me it will not rust, just need to wipe it to shine. Really nice. Too bad no money. dchum 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2007 SS will not corrode easily. The mould on it will prevent the rust from spreading. So what you will see on a typically corroding SS pipe are spots of rust/
