Polycarbonate For Balcony Roof - 6 Mm Or 10 Mm?

Hi

Should I use 6 mm or 10 mm polycarbonate to put on top of my balcony trellis?

I was told 6 mm is enough.

What are the pros and cons and how should I decide?

(10 mm is more expensive but cost is no object. I just want to get the right thing, not necessarily the cheapest or most expensive one)
