dennyon 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2008 I got it at US365 with 3 additional filter. not the cheapest. I hope to find a shop that can help me mod the charger. i heard alot of bad experience using universal adapter lehPreviously, I modded my charger for my Roomba for pets, and less than 9 months later, the charger went dead. I think the chip was overheated and it went burst. So I'm now using a universal adaptor that I got from SLT. So far no problems. Costed me 40+ bucks... near to 50.dennyon, I can't find a suitable universal adapter for Scooba, it's using MIDI kind of plug....I don't have a scooba, so I don't know how it looks like. But you can always try to go to SLT and take a look. Probably you can try to snip off the original plug from the universal adaptor and connect it to the correct one. Take care though of the connections and when dealing with live electricity.

There is absolutely no supporting document for such PSU to spoil a battery, unless he/she got a spoilt battery at the first place. I'm using transformer for my Scooba, Roomba hasn't arrived yet. It depends on your usage pattern I guess, so far Scooba's battery life is longer than expected on my side......

nunu 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 Can anybody recommend me a place to buy a reliable Scooba 380 below $1000? I know nuts about the technical part so I need the specs to suit the local voltage. Thanks!

I know nuts about the technical part so I need the specs to suit the local voltage. Thanks! You may want to consider getting from local distributor then. Full warranty and local voltage. Check out www.irobot.com.sg but it will definitely cost more than buying from USA. Of coz the advantage as mentioned is warranty and local voltage.

hansolo76 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2008 the constant dust battle staying in my new estate has finally pushed me to look for robotic help and irobot seems to be the best reviewed. im not very keen on paying crazy prices from the local distributor so thought to check if anyone has been checking out these as well and maybe can share good lobangs?also perhaps a show of hands who modded their adaptors and who decided the step down transformer is good enough? tingshen 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2008 hi hansolo, I think we could continue the discussion here for others' benefits.I'm using the transformers but would love to modify it for normal current. Besides the power wastage on transformers, would it really cause harm to the battery?
