kensanctuary 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 Hi I need some advice. Switch of main aircon unit (2 or 3 system type) can put outside bedroom? Wondering if put inside bedroom, other family members want to use then is inconvenient. But the contractor says if put main switch outside in living room, the pipe will be longer and aircon technician might charge us more cost... kensanctuary 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 oh, that mean we leave the air-con ON 24/7 whole year ?
Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted April 21, 2007 No, the aircon switch that your contractor is referring to, is the aircon electrical mains. You only need to switch this off, when the aircon needs repairing. I don't know where the switches are placed in your flats but it's cheaper to install the switch near the wall where the fancoil is. Some customers don't mind paying the money to align all the switches in one centralised location, this means more concealed trunking and of course means more money.
