Dear all, started this thread to share with you guys and hope to get some pointers to make my home a more cosy place to live in.

Received our keys on the 3rd Feb 2007 and started reno on 21st Mar 2007. Contractor is Sam from Love home. :)

Air con trunking is up on Sat. Why is it that all trunking is so unsightly? :D given that its the best of my house layout.. still not happy with it..

initially bought a toshiba system 3 (16k BTU for living rm, 9k BUT each for 2 bedrooms) and the installer said 16 BTU is not sufficient for my living and dining rm.. luckily, he installed the thicker cables for us. In the afternoon, went down to IMM to settle teh air con. Had to top up $340 to change to mitsubishi invertor system 3 (18k BTU for living, 10k BTU for the 2 bedrooms). Total damage: $2898.

Seriously, think that i'm overcharged for the upgrade :jawdrop:

Pictures of my aircon trunking.

Went to meet up with ID for kitchen cabinet design and chosing of laminates.

In the end, decided to go with all white laminates and solid surface after much psyco-ing

by hubby and ID. wanted something easier to maintain initially.. but white kitchen is indeed

nice.. :sport-smiley-004:

Electrician coming in on tue to settle the points. just some minor shifting and adding cost

about $1.2k. :deal: Plus i'm not doing any false ceiling.

Electricians are really making good money these days.

Then painting to start on Wed. Keeping my colours simple. Going for cream white for most of it.

Except for certain walls in living and dining room going for earth colour brown.

TV console wall: Nippon Maldives Sand

Dining area wall: Nippon Peaceful

MBR: Nippon Fresh Rose (as advised by FS master to use a more peachy colour, good for couples)

MBR toilet pipes: Black coz my toilet is orh orh one mah.

Suppose to start buying the sanitary stuff today but hubby not in the mood to shop, hence postponed to next weekend. Things to get: Basin for MBR, taps for 2 toilets plus kitchen tap. (Rest are included in the package).

Nothing catch our eye at IMM yesterday. Anyone has recommendations for places to shop?

I like this one but he doesnt :dunno:

Kitchen- no pictures yet.

Toilets - Milo can light

Lightings will be up next Tue. Anyone knows if this is the usual practice? Lights up before carpentry?

My ID is taking a long time with the capentry, haven even started :) Think only gonna start acid wash on Mon. Sofa and dining table coming in on 18th May, have have to postpone it judging from the rate of progress.

Next up on the list is TV console and glass study table. Saw 1 nice glass study table at Vhive, seems like they do not do minor customisation at all. And hence, the hunt continues..

Paintings are also done. Decided to use simple colours.

Living. Maldives Sand

I like this colour :)

Image018_resize.jpg

Dining. Cream white.

Image016_resize.jpg

Kitchen. Peaceful

Image017_resize.jpg

MBR. Rose pink.

Colour turned out pinkier than expected. :D
