Guma 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2018 Hi all, I am new here. I am planning to overlay vinyl tiles on my paraquet flooring in my resale apartment. I met up with a few ID and some advised me to hack the paraquet flooring prior to laying vinyl tiles citing reason that the paraquet flooring may be damaged and cause problem if overlay. Some say if the paraquet flooring is ok just some light scratches, overlay is fine. Anyone with paraquet flooring and you overlay with vinyl? Need some honest feedback. Thanks! Chubbyfat2 2 Report post Posted April 3, 2018 Hmm, cause if overlaying your floor , the floor itself will be slightly higher. whereas if you hack out all the paraquet this will avoid the problem when , if there is a leak of water underneath or the attack of termite. LauChek 18 Report post Posted April 15, 2018 Personally i would hack the parquet floor and then put the vinyl tiles. But one question why do you want to remove the parquet tiles?
