Contractor to Refurbish 20 years old kitchen cabinet

Recommended Posts

My kitchen cabinet was built twenty years ago with good quality material. Structured still intact including the laminated. The laminates color faded and stained with oil marks.

I was thinking to change the laminate and the wood trim on the side. Got one carpenter to quote but all he is interested is to make complete 10 feet new cabinets for me. He mentioned refurbished is more expensive than making new?

Any advise or recommendations of good honest carpenter willing to do refurbish work at cost lower than building brand new cabinets?

I definitely think refurbishing the cabinet might be even expensive because the contractor need to do more to fix the old one. As some part of the wood might spoil in somewhere and tearing out the laminates might damage your cabinet as well. So far what have the carpenter told you about the refurbishing  ?
