Sub-con for hacking walls / walls demolition?

Hi all,

In my quotation by an ID/contractor, I was quoted an extremely high price for hacking a piece of wall (bto's kitchen). I was quoted SG$1xxx per wall. 4-figure to tear down a wall sounds freaking expensive to me as I'm not building new wall or anything. My fiance joked that he could do it himself. I mean, even though I'm keen to engage this ID, but I cannot accept that a wall demolition is so marked up.

Hence, anyone has recommendation for me to hire a hdb-approved sub-con to demolish the wall while i'll have the ID to do everything else?
