hi luppy this is what i copied from some fengshui webbie. we only did step 1 though. for ur reference :)

Dong Tu Ritual 动土仪式

Two Oranges 大桔一对

One Huat Kueh 发糕一个

Two Red Bun 红圆一对

Joss Sticks 小香一包

1 pair Red Candles 红烛一对

Joss Paper 金纸一份

Prayer Sweets 钱盒一包

Tea Leaves 茶叶一包

New Hammer Small 铁锤一抱

Red Ribbon 红丝带

Step 1 – Find the Eastern Direction of your house.

Place the Huat Kueh on top of the Joss Paper金纸, at the center of the living room facing the East. Place the pair of oranges in front of the Huat Kueh, the Red Buns beside the Huat Kueh. Poke the pair of candles into the two sides of the Huat Kueh, like a goal pole. Place the Prayer Sweets and Tea Leaves in front of the Oranges.

Tie the Red Ribbon on the handle of the hammer. Place the Hammer in front of the Prayer Sweets and Tea Leaves.

Step 2 – Start Prayers

Light the candles and light five sticks of Joss Sticks. Start to pray three times each from the East, then face South, then West and then North. Pray to the center of the living room in front of the Huat Kueh.

Say, 弟子 _ _ _ 今日动土,请五方五土龙神保佑装修工程顺顺利利, 装修工程完成后,弟子定谢五土, 旺土旺宅. Poke the Joss Sticks into the center of the Huat Kueh, close your palms and pray three times.

Take the hammer from the floor and knock on the ground in front of the Huat Kueh lightly. Then proceed to all corners of the house starting from the living room, master bedroom, the other rooms, then the kitchen, store room and finally the toilets. Keep the hammer after knocking.

Proceed to take up the Huat Kueh and remove the Joss Paper金纸and take the Joss Sticks from the Huat Kueh and bring down to be burnt downstairs. Once finished burning the Joss Paper金纸, proceed back to clear the stuffs and place them in a plastic bag. Bring downstairs and place under a tree.

good date is quite important. and heard tt it's best to open door before noon time. we used the website to get a good date for our opening door ceremony. u can try it if u aren't too particular abt not engaging a fs master.

verywed auspicious dates

Thanks cornetto!

Finally collected my keys and today reno starts...

Yesterday went to open the door with fruits and sprinkle rice and salt. After that, we took back the fruits when we left... is that ok? Cos today reno starts and we are afraid it may hinder their work...

I bought my entire house lightings from Lightology.....total spent $648. My lightings are installed last weekend, you can go take a peek if you want to!

wah...you can spend within 1k! very good leh! After yesterday's tour I roughly estimate how much I will spend, it cost me around 1k+ Never know that lights can be so expensive...

Thanks for sharing your pics! very nice leh after it is all put up... noticed you use the rectangular lighting for the kitchen... am thinking of that too...

Haha...maybe cos only 3room mah...so lesser lightings required....

Rectangular lighting is good for the kitchen cos kitchen alredy shrunk from original size and with only 1 lighting point, it makes sense to have a rectangular one to spread out the light instead of a square or room one.... :P

Happy lights searching...its always a difficult process, but you'll pull it through!

Oh..yah less rooms less lights thus less pricy...

mine got 4 rooms and a L-shaped living room... wah... broke... btw kitchen only can have one lighting point har? cos my kitchen abit long, wonder if one light is bright enough... or like you said get a long rectangular one to spread the light (save electric, save $$) :~
