Placement Of Ceiling Fan

Recommended Posts

Hi hsh

just wondering pics are taken of current place with furniture or ?

Yes... this is the current house with the furniture in...

it's between silver and antique colour now

silver will bring some shine while antique/brown will kinda go with the theme.

what say you?

actually I am very poor in colour..but between silver and brown... I will choose brown...

We can choose whether we want yellow or white during our purchase... but I asked for white light... U can change the light to the higher Watt if not bright enough... my rooms only lighted by the fan lights... so far no problem...

Hi HSH21,

We intend to put the ceiling fans in all bedrooms & living & dining. What length that we should use?

52" or smaller? We have bought 3 sets 52" fans with 4 light kits at $250 each. Thot it is for the 3 bedrooms, but was told that 52" is too big & 4 energy savings white lights are too much. :bleah:

Is using remote control good?

Help, help pl.

Oh... I am not an expert hor... just to share my experience only...

whether the fan is big or not ... all depend on your room size and also is there any thing blocking the fan ...

My MBR fan is 52"... others all 48" and my son's room is even smaller because there are wardrobe at both sides of the wall ...

Don't worry about the room is too bright... because U can on only 1 bulb, 2 bulbs or all the bulbs...

Of couse remote control is good... U can on/off the fan and light while U lay on the bed... but it cause more $$$ ...

Hi,

The shop only put as Sniper 52" with 4 light kits. :)

Oh, if I think I better quickly call the shop & exchange with a smaller width, maybe 48" will do & wif only 3 lights.

yah, most shop say remote range from $65 to $90.

The price for the remote should be included in the purchase price for the fan right ??

think those fans scoria76 bought are with the two strings

if want to modify to become remote controlled got to pay more

not just the remote control itself per se...

what do you all think of elmark?

read the thread about the horrorible after-sales service, very worried coz one of the fans i'm aiming is an elmark :notti:

the shop i went to offered the elmark 52" at $220 with four lights

if want to change to remote controlled is $290

but the fanco aroma (the one with round fluorescent light) is $250 with remote control, this one not available in non-remote controlled version :notti:

and also depends on where you buy

Yup, I was eyeing for elmark as well., but at last bought the fans (@bright house) wif dono wat brand. Maybe the model is sniper.??

3 sets 52" fan + installation + 4 lightkits ea + 13w daylight =>$800. :(

We went to universal union. a salesgal quoted $195 for 52" elmark fan + 3 lightkits(inclusive). So chepa..

Then we went to crown house along geylang rd, the seller recommend crestar. He say crestar & allied is from taiwan whereas elmark & 2 more brand is from China. He say crestar after sales is good.

don't know how true..

So he quote us 52"fan ($185) + 3lightkits($45)+ installation($35), but we didnt any fans from him, but decided to ask around.

we went to chelsea at lakeside, fan 52"only is at $220 + 3 lights($55) + installation($35). Then we went to another shop just a few shops after it, the fans 52"is only $195. much much cheaper.

But till date still fickle do not which size to put where. :notti:
