Placement Of Ceiling Fan

Recommended Posts

Where to put ceiling fan in living room and bed room?

Understand that there is "no wind" exactly underneath the fan, is this true?

Usually it's at the side/perimeter of the fan that has the most "wind"

Hence if place in hall will be either

- between tv and sofa

- behind sofa

place in room will be not directly above bed, at one side

:notti:

I dun thnk that the ctr no wind is that big a consideration when considering placement. The ctr no wind zone is not that big.

Ideally, it would be best that after putting all furniture in then consider where to place the fan. If not, it would look rather odd to see a living room with an off centre ceiling fan.

Personally, I dun like ceiling fan in bedroom cos at nite, the ceiling fan blow wind directly onto the bed all the time. At least table fan can adjust to blow diff direction if weather is not that hot.

All my 5 fans come with light... so for the bedroom it is at the center of the room....

For the kithcen ... I have 3 light points... so it is at the dinning area...

for my living...I have 5 light points... it is in between the computer and sofa ... btw... I have one light point in between the sofa and TV.... so the fan is not in the center...

We can choose whether we want yellow or white during our purchase... but I asked for white light... U can change the light to the higher Watt if not bright enough... my rooms only lighted by the fan lights... so far no problem...

Well... the brightness of the light all depend on the Watt of the bulb... if U find it is not bright enough ... just need to change the bulb ...

I wanted to buy one kind whereby i was told it uses those circular light bulb. For room, i dun want to use those with hanging lights. the circular bulb i was told got 40 watts, but bcos the size is small, so its wont be as bright. i looked ard but so far i hv never seen a circular light bulb that size but is 40 watts. that size normally is 22watts...

Since the bedroom only has one switch, how to control the fan? u just turn on the switch and then control the lights / fan via remote?

My MBR is using this type of light... it is different from the normal... two circular light joined together ... must ask my HB how many watt is that...

Ya I use the remote control for the MBR fan/light ... and that's the only way for it...

But for the rest of the fan/light... even there are two switches... there are two strings to each fan/light... one string to control the on/off or how many light U want to on... another string to control the on/off and speed of the fan...

Hi hsh

just wondering pics are taken of current place with furniture or ?

thinking of changing the colour of my fan i bought.

Hall colour is mainly:

- white ceiling

- milky white wall

- beidge tiles

- dark wood furnitures

it's between silver and antique colour now

silver will bring some shine while antique/brown will kinda go with the theme.

what say you?
