sumobear 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 (edited) Now I really start to experience the stress of home renovation and wedding preparation and why some couples actually call off everything during the midst of preparation. Are the things that I am going through right now consider the "BMT aka Basic Military Training" of marriage or probably allow me to rephase it properly as the BMT aka BASIC MARRIAGE TRAINING? Homeowner 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 Poor Sumobear, don't be discouraged...you're very lucky your wife is not fussy...just keep a closer eye on things. Tiling floors is basic...shouldn't be a problem...after all the contractor tiled the kitchen tiles to your satisfaction, right?

She is still very cool with the whole issue. The feeling right now is like you have completed a painting that you love so much and someone go and spill some paint over it and spoilt the whole painting.Don't be sad...even famous artists like Leonardo Da Vinci paints over his works... beneath a beautiful painting sometimes there are layers of painting and effort...as long as the final one is to your satisfaction It's a learning experience, just don't recommend or engage this contractor in future... Sigh...where to get $$$ after coughing out the extra $$$ for the floor? You still have a few more months to save up and perhaps bonus in July?? Tah bao sandwiches for lunch everyday! Save on wedding albums...they occupy space and frankly, after the wedding nobody looks at them.

mist 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 Sigh...where to get $$$ after coughing out the extra $$$ for the floor? dont worry about the tiled floor. i'm sure it will be money well spent. Anyway the hacking and all that redo costs are borne by your contractor right? think of the benefits of tiling! easier to clean and maintain.. no crack lines...blah blah.. i do agree with the wedding photo album thingy. spending a lump sum of photos and yet in the end put in one corner to collect dust. but still if wifey wants it can at least talk to her about the money involve. yes i agree too! we chose extra photos so ended up paying more. in the end the album was only shown durin housewarming and thats it. well anyway maybe when we are old we can flip thru the album and relive the memories:) but for now its kept in the storeroom already. hehe

Yah I do agree on the album part, so I am still thinking what to do with it loh. I am thinking whether to do a documentation for my home renovation, wedding preparation and wedding into a book or magazine style then print and give to all my wedding helpers, relatives and closer friends. Still considering because of the cost factor, hopefully can get sponsored printing.

Don worry too much abt the hacking of ur hse, "Old don go New wont Come" so stay cool and wait for the new Face change. Your hse will sure become swee swee. I think the tiled floor may be the blessing cos I heard some hse face the same prob only when they had moved in.
