ivory 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 Hi Applefreak, how good was the light sale huh? Also check with you something: must we let HDB do the cement screeding or i cant let my contractor handle it? Thanks.Hi Hobbes,Is this cement screeding for the purpose of preparing the area for laminate?Ok, both HDB and contractor can do the screeding. Difference is, if you apply for HDB to do it, it'll be done FOC but if contractor were to do it, it'll come with a cost. For my place, my ID prefers that HDB do it, so as to help cut cost. He applied to HDB on our behalf and will be doing the necessary liasing with HDB for the screeding.

applefreak 1 Report post Posted March 18, 2007 guess i was very ngeow coz dun want to spend too much on lightsfeel the money can be better spent elsewhere guess the bulk of my reno cost will be the kitchen - dream kitchen where i can whip up delicious meals for my loved one. as it is, taking orders from my parents when they have the urge to eat something specific didn't get any toilet acc from nan wah coz dun like chromealso dun need anything except the mirror, towel bar and toilet roll holderwill be getting S/S ones for both toiletsjust realised that my kitchen measurements was wrong - short by 1/2 m!and the yard is bigger than i rememberedso will be putting the dryer in the yard afterallside by side with the washerthen i can have a much longer work-topchanged my mind again about the sink coz saw some 'granite' sinks which are quite nice and affordable - plado at $280the proprietor also solved my problem of getting a sink without drainer, he actually showed me how his sink behind the shop is built so that water from the worktop can flow directly into the inset sink... very nice man, same dialect with me somemore. most prob will go back to him for the sink - if i can decide finally to get granite that isgood news that brightened up my day!my mum has kindly agreed to top up the difference between my budget and the actual cost. hurray! applefreak 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2007 storeberry, i meant the light cover is plasticinitially wanted to get glass coz won't turn yellow over the years but the price difference really...the uncle told us the bulb is less than $10 for the 21watt onesmaybe will drop by tomorrow to see if the aluminium contractors have started workwe were there on sunday but nothing yet so most prob she just said it to pacify mebut must give it to her coz i called on friday and she returned my call on monday morning quite set on granite sink liao, given that it's not prone to scratches or chipsbut the mounting would be quite a headache coz want one that has giant bowls so that it'll be easier to wash my wok. those with big bowls doesn't come with draining plate so must undermount the sink. dun know if the contractor can do for me or notmost prob getting granite top for my concrete support coz it's not much more expensive than corian top
