denari 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2007 I'd just like to ask some q's cos me and my wife intend to makeour customary ceremony a private and simple one.1) are they any bridal studio that rent out gown & suit just for tea ceremony purposes only? (we don't intend to engage professional photography services)2) is it allowed if you don't get 'bros & sis' for the playacting? (but still will have the car door opening and stuff)After that, we'll just return the gown/suit and prepare for restaurant dinner between 2 families.Any comments? zirhk3355 1 Report post Posted March 17, 2007 Shi dian jin refers to the a ring, a necklace and a pair of earrings. That one is to be bought by your mum for the bride. If going by the traditional way, tea ceremony is to be conducted by the matchmaker, who say blessings for you, your wife and the senior drinking your tea. But nowadays, people tend to get a younger member of the family to do it, usually one that does not need to drink tea, who will just stand there with the tray and pot.
