Adding a room on the first floor

Hi folks, I am here to get some suggestions. Our house is too old and we are planning to renovate it. We would like to add a room to our first floor. We got many designs and ideas from  home renovation company in Toronto and we are confused seeing all those designs. What are the things that we should look for in getting more out of a minimal space?  Please chime in with some useful suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I think you should consult local ID for better understanding as they are more experience in this field. As going DIY can be very confusing especially when your house is very old.
