Hi All,

Need some advice, for homo tiles there are two type right? Smooth type and the rough type? Is rough homo tiles hard to maintence? Just curious can anyone advise which one is more suitable for the living room and what is it benefit and bad pt? Anyone have done their living with rough homo tiles? Can provide pictures for me to view? Thanks in advance!

I would like to know too!

Glossy finishing would look great when the ceiling light is reflected off, but there might be a hard time maintaining that shine. Also, it can be quite slippery if wet, not old folks/kids friendly.

Matt surface would meant less maintenance since you don't have to make it shine all the time, even if there are scratches, it's not so obvious? And definitely not so slippery as well .. Just that you don't get the showroom shine as seen in most interior magazines.

Depends on what you want, practical or aesthetics.

I was considering those tiles used in shopping centres. Glossy with glitters. But it would probably look weird for residential ..

The 2 types of tiles are called Matt (rough) and Glossy (smooth).

We chose matt finish-homogenous tiles bcos scratches or any small marks that can't be removed in the long run, won't be obvious. Also don't need to polish regularly/ at all. Also not as slippery when wet compared to the glossy finish. Though glossy looks very beautiful and smooth, we thought matt is best for us due to maintenance in the long run. I do have some pics in my T-Blog, if i'm not wrong. U can take a look at it by clicking on my signature title. I'll try to post some pictures taken recently over the next few days.
