wdssll 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2017 The main door now got misalignment and it scratches floor a little. I found the upper hinge is loosen, some of the screw cap is broken. Anyone can quote and help to fix it? It is the main door of a HDB unit and I think it is fire rated. Thank you.
w7_lee 11 Report post Posted March 9, 2017 Try this: http://www.hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/residential/living-in-an-hdb-flat/home-maintenance/professional-help-and-contractors You do not need to change the door, just the hinges & screws. Since you mention the screw cap is broken, if it is on the side of the frame, then it is tricky and more work. If on the side of the wooden door, then will be easy. You can also try your the neighbourhood handy man, probably cheaper than those listed on HDB link.

mayhem 2 Report post Posted March 13, 2017 I had the same problem. Mine was because the door size increased over time due to the wood absorbing water. The contractor shaved off a bit and varnished it. After awhile, the problem came back.

Brandcalfe 2 Report post Posted April 2, 2021 You need to give the door for repair, as you yourself will not be able to solve this problem. You need to connect the loops very carefully, but you need special tools for this. Trust my experience, it's best not to touch the door. When my bedroom door broke, I tried to fix it myself, but I broke it completely. I had to order a new door like this. This time I did not save money and called the specialists who installed it for me (so that the new door would not break). I've had this door for about a year, and it's in perfect condition.
