Reno Process Advise For New Hdb Flats

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just wanted to check from the time you get your key from HDB and signed your appointed designer's contract, how long do you all normally wait for renovation works to start as a general average timeframe guideline? I've waited exactly one month now, is this normal? Nothing has even started. My unit looks exactly the same as day 1.

I've been waiting a month now, supposedly they have submitted HDB defects list and renovation permit, but the last I checked with HDB, neither seems to have been received. This is really pissing me off now.

Someone please advise. Thanks!

Btw i need to check with you is that the defects list u check or ur designer check for you?

it will be good to check on your own as it is ur own house. some designers just check the only a few major and hidden defects thats all. Im not sure ur house is a premium or not as floor tiles and wall tiles plays a part too.

For HDB to do the defects will take from weeks to months depends on how tight the schedule will be. For mine i keep pushing and the finish within one and half months.

Yar I'm finally meeting up with the designer. No timeline, no nothing set yet. Yar, I left the designer to settle the defects list totally. I guess I'm not fussy about the details so I just leave it to the designer but just want things completed, at least a proper timeframe and schedule for things to happen!:bleah: Probably it's my fault for just being so hands-off. But i chased for updates. Haiz, will meet up and finally demand an explanation, this is just irresponsible.

Sorry guys, just to check though, normally when the designer applies for a renovation permit, how quickly does it update on the hdb website? Thanks!:bleah:!

usually when u open keys, u will check the defects and liaise with HDB to push the defects to be done up,

ID/contractors can help to spot defects but they dont usually deal with HDB, i dont know for ur case that ur ID/contractor promised to do up the defects?

my suggestion that monitoring their works closely will tell them u expect work to be done and not too relax on them... so they will not try to give any excuses to u later..

hacking permit depends,

if a lot of walls, maybe longer or those that will affect the structure might take few weeks?

if fast can be 3 working days to a week.

Odie is right, defect shld be check and submit by owner and tis made it more efficient to push for the defects to be done up fast. Cos ower more powerful than ID mah. :D

ID can help to spot defect but u r the one who is staying in the hse, so certain things u may nt agree with the ID if he didnt submit for u. Jus my advise tat all.
