beetroot 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 Hi,Does anyone know how a HDMI cable works? The salesperson told me that just need to connect the HDMI cable with the HDMI slot on the TV and the DVD player will do. No need to have video cable, S-video cable, component cables that sort of things. Just one cable does it all. Is it true? Anyone currently using one?

Its either got image (which will be very clear), or no image at all.But alas, in Singapore our antenna is still not fully HDMI yet, they are still testing it. So at the moment if you got HDMI-capable TV and DVD players, it means you can get good images if watching DVD, but if watching TV it will be the same as watching on analogue (red/white) cables. Can also read this for more info:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

epos 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2007 you should connect the Starhub HD STB's HDMI cable to TV if the TV support HDMI. connect the the the digital SPDIF to to HTS, otherwise use analog red/white audio.you could do your original method provided the HTS support HDMI switching--accept multiple HDMI input and output HDMI signal to TV.whats your TV and HTS?
