Hi Friends and Forumers,

My wife and I bought our 5 Room HDB Apartment in April and for our dream home design, we have engagaed Summit Design Studios, to help us with our renovation.

Renovation with Summit Design went very smoothly according to the schedule and we were able to move in about 2 months from the start date of the renovation. The carpentry work is good and up to standard. biggrin.gif

We would like to share some photos below with our fellow forumers on our Dream Home Design here. If you would like to see more, please feel free to check out our T-Blog. If you would like to find out more, feel free to ask us on our T-Blog!

P.S. We don't want to flood this thread with photos of our apartment, but, but, but, we have so many more photos to share!

1.) Our Living Room with Feature Wall

2.) Our Shoe/Storage Cabinet that is inspired by the Royce Store in Ion Orchard

3.) A view of our Master Bedroom. We enjoy the bedhead lights shining on our wedding portrait. biggrin.gif

4.) As you can see below, we have demolished a room to use it as a walk in wardrobe and the back of the wardrobe is laminated with Motiff Design.
There is a door in the middle which is "flushed" with the back of the wardrobe.

We were entertaining a group of close colleagues last night and the comments that we received from them made me felt guilty for not sharing the work my ID to all the followers of Summit Design.

He has helped to turn our flat into an ideal home – spacious, warm and modern looking.

As most of his customers have mentioned, he is a reliable and easy-going person. Most importantly, he is not pushy. From initial discussions, he’d assess our ideals/requirements and recommend what are necessary and practical. He is patient in handling and accommodating our changes throughout the progress of work; occasionally reminding us of our budget.

We didn’t give him the luxury of time; finalizing quotation, designs, plan for tiles selection, permit applications etc, we depended on him to prompt us. Even the process of renovation, we depended heavily on him to check on the progress of work and to ensure the quality of workmanship. He kept to his progressive and completion targets; constantly kept us posted. Along the way, we’re quite impressed with his level of service and professionalism. He managed the sub contractors well; the tiling, carpentry, doors and electricity works etc all turned out well, only painting work is not up to expectation.

Some of the little things that he had done, even thought could be small and minor, made us appreciative of him. Even after house hand-over, he’d still follow up closely on all the touch-up requests that we’ve made.

Having a reliable and capable ID has definitely helped to make our renovation easier and less hassles for us.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Wanted to send up this post much earlier but was totally caught up with work..

My family folks have come by our house for a dinner session and their reactions are all WOW, NICE, SIMPLE yet so Class kind
of comments followed with a Big Exclamation Mark! You can imagine the proud smiles we had when we heard that and thinking
the 2 months of tiring reno which we had was thus rewarded!

Initially we had wanted to create a SOHO office within our living area but not wanting to make our living room seem smaller too.
Plus our dining area is also in the way so we really had a hard time deciding where and how.
We are glad to have William with us this time round. He really puts his heart to helping us change the layout time and again
and to see whether all can pull through. Compared with our previous designer we had worked before,
Another point to note is even after we had paid the final deposit, all rectifications needed was done very fast.
And yes, if you ask me, we will definitely go back to him for our next reno! *Well done!*

Hi Everyone,

I will share my experience using ID service Summit Design for our renovation.
We buy resale HDB near commonwealth close area, and looking for ID that is nice and affordable.
Me and my wife visited expo home renovation and browse around Renotalk forum.
After doing all the research and compilation we finally decided to use Summit Design and *** is our ID.

Our partial renovation are mainly target WC, the rest is just painting, touch up and cleanup stuff.
It takes almost 1.5 month to finished the whole things.

The good and bad things about this renovation:
1. My wife is extremely detail person, she personally point couple stuff that need to be handle and taken care.
Surprisingly *** is able to do all of our request.

2. In early renovation, we have couple of stuff that broke during the renovation due the clumsiness of the worker.
But *** will fairly offset all the fee that caused by his men.

3. So far we are really happy with the renovation of our WC, simple and yet elegant.
We are happily recommend *** to other people who looking for designer with nice and yet affordable.

This is our couple pic:

Hello Fellow Summit members,

Yes, my house is one of the projects handled by Summit and none other than James Chew. Like everyone my wife & myself went to source for many IDs/Contractors. They include Weiken, Ideal House, Ciseern, Image, Artrend, etc. Some replied with the quote, while some bo chap us, some 'requested' us to visit their show-room, etc (maybe our budget is too low)

At that time, my wife is pregnancy & we happened to visit Summit office; maybe that's part of the reason why we pick this ID. And Ideal House may be our next choice if not for the gst; and that lady is Plenfel.

I can say James is a very accomodating & patience guy, he gives us his design & we have our & we keep changing. Actually I am easy but maybe not for my wife tongue.gif

Most of the design 99%, I leave it to my wife to see what she wants. This is what my ex-coy colleagues fathers had advised me. Leave the design concept to your wife and in future you will not hear any complains. My wife is very picky or should I say she put plan ahead for our baby. Hahaha

Often if there are any changes, I will meet James & update her (waiting for her approval). Thus this delay much time. But he did not show slight hint of unpleasantness. Often I make him to come over our place so that my wife & myself can discuss with him easily due to our baby. Therefore most of the time, my wife did not meet him. Well, I can say that James is a responsive person and could reach him by phone late at night.

I heard he is doing a port folio or something like that. I believe my house design is about the same as other young couples whereby having open-concept kitchen, bar-counter, false ceiling, etc.

We have half-open concept kitchen with half-glass build due to baby's concern. So that we can see kid if we are in kitchen. Unfortunately, we did not have a nice dinner light which is strongly recommended to beautify the living room because right now we do not intend to have dinner table. Perhaps we will eat outside, infront tv, in-law/parents place. Thus for that portion, we only have 2 downlights. Perhaps in next 5 yr, we will have one. Then we will cover up the 2 downlights.
to be cont...
