If you don't remove the study, you can hack one door in the wall that separates the kitchen and the study and make the study room your dining room. Then you would have more space for your living room.

An additional idea, if you have the money for it, is to hack away that wall to the study that you planned to as well and do up a tempered glass wall so that you have the illusion of space as well as a see-through dining room....
